Mac Address Lookup
Thu Nov 15, 2018 5:21 pm #79164 I've come up with an unusual way of controlling a Sonoff smart switch without needing to use any Wifi access point. It uses Wifi probe request messages so neither the client or the Sonoff needs to be connected to an access point - the client sends probe requests with its mac address encoding which Sonoff. And go to SONOFF official site for the latest SONOFF products info: Tutorial. From ITEAD Wiki. How to Get a Fixed MAC Address on Iteaduino Plus.

I have many Sonoff devices, mostly basic switches. Once I name a device something I can no longer see the MAC address in the app. I also have several routers and APs. I would like to be able to give the devices a name in the router's database so I can identify which Sonoff is connected to what AP etc. It would be VERY USEFUL and probably very easy to supply the MAC address under device information in the phone app.
---
I also have several devices that work with the Smart Life app and it does show the MAC of each device. That has allowed me to name the devices in my router and monitor each one's status on my network.
So my request is to please improve the phone app by enabling it to show the MAC address of Sonoff devices. At it stands it is impossible to tell one from another when looking at the network unless I am missing a trick that will let me connect my device named Barn Light SW with a MAC address.

I noticed the Android app updated the other day and was hopeful that this feature had been added. Disappointed that is was not..

Yes, this feature is absolutely essential for managing a group of devices. Of course, I should have kept a record as I renamed each one, but now it's too late.
I've just spent a few hours using google WiFi to monitor traffic to see when IP got busy when repeatedly switched - eventually got the lot (and tagged them with a serial no and the last two digits of the MAC, so it should not be a doddle to match again if needed.)

Come on folks. This is not a difficult feature to include. Creates a lot of work to manage devices once they are connected if you cannot identify them at the router/switch level.
VINCENZO DELLE CAVE
PLEASE ADD THIS FEATURE. IT IS THE ONLY APP THAT DOESN'T SHOW DEVICE MAC ADDRESS
Vladimir Valda
Hi, I will also appreciate this feature that is very useful for managing the devices on router level.

They did it. The latest version of ewelink shows the MAC address under settings for each device.

I just checked each of my Sonoffs (10) and they are all sitting at 2.6.0 and it says that that is the latest firmware. I'm in Australia, maybe they are rolling out the updates to regions in sequence.
How To Get Sonoff Mac Address
EW can you please tell me what firmware you have on your devices?
Meyknecht Werner
There is no MAC address to see in the 2.6.0 version! Also not in the 2.7.0 with the 4 channel.ITEAD we urgently need this!!!!
E W
My devices are running firmware version 2.6.0 but that has nothing to do with showing the MAC address. The key to that is your ewelink version. Make sure you have the latest. I am running Android 3.5.6.

How To Get The Mac Address For Sonoff Free
As I am likely done developing on this great little relay, I wanted to write a short post regarding how to interact with it. Of course, it was meant to be used with SmartThings, but it does have a web interface and can be used independently.
Connecting it to your wifi
When power is first applied it creates a wifi AP titled “Sonoff.[MAC address]”. This is for ease and convenience of adding it to your home network. After connecting to the access point with the password “configme”, you browse to 192.168.4.1 and connect it to your wifi access point. At that point it should reboot and obtain an ip address from your network.
SmartThings Service Manager SmartApp
The service manager is designed to pick up after the above step is complete. You install the SmartApp and run its “discover” mode. It will find all the Sonoff switches on your network. It will also display the IP address that the switches obtained so you can connect to their web interface if you desire. Connecting to their web interface is an optional step as the service manager will configure the switch to work with your SmartThings hub.
From here you can do some advanced configuration. You can set a static IP address if you would like. You can also configure a password to use for configuration & firmware update, as well as control. If you do setup a control password here, you must input the password into the device within SmartThings. You can also set the Boot Up state from here, although that can also be configured within SmartThings.
There is also a way to graphically control the relay from the web interface. You can turn it on or off with a click of the mouse.
Password Protection
The username for password protection of the config and the control is: “admin”
JSON endpoints
On the main page of the device, there is a listing of all the JSON endpoints. Here is a listing of their function.
status: This will return a status of the relay (power) and the switches uptime (uptime).
Bmw f30 bulb sizes. config: This endpoint is intended to be used by the HA system to send configuration parameters to the switch. You can send the HA hub ip address (haip), communication port, (haport) and “power on state” (pos).
on: Turns the relay on.
off: Turns the relay off.
Mac Address Vendor Lookup
reboot: Reboots the device
info: Returns the firmware version (version), date (date), and the MAC address (mac) of the device.
Firmware Update
Updating the firmware is an extremely simple process. You navigate to /update for the switch you are wanting to update, click and select the bin file you downloaded, and hit the “Update” button.
The latest firmware can be found here: https://github.com/erocm123/SmartThingsPublic/tree/master/devicetypes/erocm123/sonoff-wifi-switch.src
Factory Reset
You can reset the devices wifi & network configuration settings by holding the switch down on the device for 10 – 20 seconds. You can reset all of the settings on the device (useful if you forget the configuration password) by holding down the switch for 20 – 60 seconds.
